USDA Announces Grants for Wood Innovation Programs

The department selected 123 projects from across the nation.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently released $43 million for the Community Wood Grants and Wood Innovations Grants, supporting the 123 projects selected to receive funding for 2023. The selected programs move a number of wood-related efforts forward, including renewable forest restoration, wood and biomass energy operations, and innovations in mass timber production.

“By building more sustainably, we are able to address the ongoing wildfire crisis and lower risks to our communities, while also creating new markets for the excess and hazardous wood we need to remove from our fire-prone western landscapes and creating jobs and wealth in rural communities along the way,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack as he works with urban, rural, and tribal communities to foster all the facets of America’s wood industry.
  • That the 123 recipients of the grants utilize the funding efficiently and effectively.
  • For USDA officials as they build partnerships to steward America’s resources.
